This reference shelf is our collection of resources for exploring all avenues of Earth Chronicle. Our hope is that not only can you find the answers to your questions here, but that you can find them quickly and in the way that's most clear and direct for you. However, we also hope to serve you if you're in the mood to just browse and wander. Ever get sidetracked in a dictionary when you're looking for a word? We want to give you the resources to do that too.

This casts the net wider and you'll find more difficult to locate information, or run across more articles that are more likely to surprise you.

• ECAN Subject Codes: Pages are listed under every subject applicable. Subjects are listed by ECAN code to keep similar subjects together.

• Image Index: Images are listed once by file name. File names are listed alphabetically. Includes the source of each image.
• Image Table of Contents: Images are listed under every subject applicable. Subjects are listed alphabetically.
• Image ECAN Codes: Images are listed under every subject applicable. Subjects are listed by ECAN code to keep similar images together.
• Source Credits: Information on image sources including their image use policies. This helps us document each image's pedigree and demonstrate it's legitimacy as a public domain resource.
